En Plein Air Windsor and Eton 2016

In this special year of HM The Queen’s 90th birthday, Royal consent has been granted to allow the competition to be staged within the walls of Windsor Castle. This is a privileged, unique opportunity to soak up the magnificent architecture while painting in a stunning setting.

Artists are invited from around the globe to come and create their own masterpieces within a 6.5 hours’ time frame, in the world’s most famous and largest inhabited castle.

Afterwards a street gallery exhibition will be mounted of the participating artists' work, where the paintings will be judged and the public will get the chance to cast their vote for their favourite piece. The winner of the competition will receive £500 and their painting will be donated to HM The Queen’s collection.

The competition is open to all artists, professional or amateur. Register at http://tickets.windsor.gov.uk/EnPleinAir. Registration fee £35. Entries close on 15th July at 12 noon.
