An evening of African Writing with the Caine Prize

The shortlisted writers of the 2018 Caine Prize for African Writing read extracts from their short stories. 

The evening will be hosted by South African journalist and writer Margie Orford, who will chat with the writers about the inspiration behind their writing and stories. 

Shortlisted writers include: 
  • Nonyelum Ekwempu (Nigeria) for 'American Dream'
  • Stacy Hardy (South Africa) for 'Involution'
  • Olufunke Ogundimu (Nigeria) for 'The Armed Letter Writers'
  • Makena Onjerika (Kenya) for 'Fanta Blackcurrant'
  • Wale Talabi (Nigeria) for 'Wednesday's Story'
