Commonwealth Day 2017

In London, Commonwealth Day started a ceremony at the Memorial Gates which were erected to honour the five million men and women of the Commonwealth who volunteered to serve with the armed forces during the first and second world wars.

There followed the launch of the Gold Coast 2018 Queen's Baton Relay at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, where HM The Queen placed Her message to the Commonwealth and its athletes inside the Baton. The Baton now travels across the Commonwealth to the opening ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games on 4 April 2018. Read or download the factsheet.
