Through initiatives such as The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy, we work to protect one of the world's most important natural habitats - forests. Since 2015, over 3,495,000 hectares have been protected for future generations. Similarly, through Commonwealth champions such as Lewis Pugh, UN Patron of Oceans we advocate for the protection of the world's oceans.
The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy (QCC) presents a rare opportunity to unite the whole Commonwealth family and save one of the world's most important natural habitats - our forests. The QCC aims to create a pan-Commonwealth network of forest conservation initiatives across all 53 Commonwealth countries.
The world's ocean is essential to life on our planet. Billions of people depend on it for their livelihoods. Yet human activity is increasingly putting the health of this critical natural resource in peril. Working together the Commonwealth is uniquely placed to solve this crisis.
