In this divided world, there has never been a greater need for the Commonwealth's values. Through events such as the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey, we champion the power of connected communities to build a better world.
Held in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen, Head of the Commonwealth and celebrated on Commonwealth Day, the Commonwealth Service is the world’s premier, inter-faith, public event to celebrate the Commonwealth of Nations.
Each February half-term, the Society partners with the Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Family Day, a programme of interesting activities and dynamic performances designed to celebrate the diversity of the modern Commonwealth and highlight the Abbey’s historical Commonwealth links.
Model CHOGM's operate much like a model UN scenario, with individuals acting as the heads of government of Commonwealth countries and engaging in discussions as their country would. Critically, country representatives in a Model Commonwealth Summit must reach a consensus on the issues discussed, adding a challenging element that is of great contemporary importance.
