Aims of the Competition

Competition Aims

To bring together film-makers from across the Commonwealth and build links between them

To increase the experience and exposure of Commonwealth film-makers

To project the forward thinking nature of the modern Commonwealth, to reflect its universal appeal

To distribute the short-listed films as widely as possible across the Commonwealth, in video-cassette and CD-ROM format, including to Commonwealth broadcasters, schools and colleges, Commonwealth groups, governments and Commonwealth organisations etc.

To promote debate about Commonwealth issues using short films to stimulate discussion and to increase awareness of issues affecting us all

The Commonwealth Vision Awards promote excellence in filmmaking across the Commonwealth. Open to both actual and prospective film-makers, they inspire young people to think creatively about international issues and share their opinions with peers around the globe.
