About the Photographic Awards

The Commonwealth Photographic Awards began in 1999 under the joint leadership of the Commonwealth Press Union and the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association.

Open to all from, or resident in, Commonwealth countries, this inspiring photographic prize celebrates the ways in which young people from all backgrounds across the Commonwealth, from different races, creeds, cultures and ways of life, see themselves and others.

Prizes for the Photographic Awards will include a top prize of £500 plus photographic equipment and internships at newspapers around the Commonwealth. The RCS will also endeavour to fly a selection of winners to London for a series of workshops, meetings and a Gala Awards Ceremony in October
