Delhi Commonwealth Writers' Workshop
The RCS Essay Competition teams up with the Commonwealth Writers' Prize in New Delhi!
The Commonwealth Writers' Prize is one of the world's major literary prizes and celebrates the strength of writing within the Commonwealth. Some of the former winners of CWP are David Malouf, J M Coetzee, Jhumpa Lahiri, Mohammed Hanif, Vikram Chandra and Vikram Seth.
This year, the seven shortlisted winners from Nigeria, South Africa, Pakistan, UK, Canada, Australia and Samoa headed to New Delhi in April for the final stage of the judging process where they also met with pupils from Bal Bharati Pitampura, Bluebells School and the Convent of Jesus and Mary School.
Creative writing workshops were held with the students of these schools and it was a lot of fun!
