The Nkabom Network

If there is one thing that unites the Nkabom 2008 participants, it's their passion to change the world for the better. And for this dynamic and driven group, geographical distance presents no barrier. Using facebook, Skype conference calling and other new media, the group are encouraging one another in their local work and planning collaborative projects.

To pick out just a very few examples, among the 29 participants:

• Most of the participants are teaching others what they learnt through their own workshops.
• Seven members of the group have been commissioned to produce a Peacebuilding Toolkit to engage other young people in conflict resolution work. They will meet Archbishop Tutu in person in September 2009.
• Six participants are pursuing further study in conflict resolution, one was inspired to stand in local elections and another has published a book to call others in his county to action.
