What's happening in 2010?
The 2010 Commonwealth Theme is "Science, Technology and Society". This presents us with a unique opportunity to showcase the modern Commonwealth at its best during the Commonwealth Day Observance on Monday 8th March.
This year the Observance will be more exciting and interactive than ever.
While maintaining the more traditional aspects of the Observance inside Westminster Abbey, there will be a number of Street Science exhibits and technological displays taking place outside before the service itself begins. Guests, and young people in particular, will be able to learn in a fun and engaging way about the challenges faced by fellow Commonwealth citizens around the world and the role that science and technology can play in helping to tackle them.
Inside the Abbey, you can expect a colourful service packed with a range of performances and testimonies from prominent Commonwealth scientists interlaced with readings from faith leaders.
