update...

Dear , Danny Sriskandarajah

Happy New Year! In this first newsletter of 2010, I am delighted to announce that MemberNet is here. This exclusive members-only area of the website will enable you to upload a personal profile, search for, and contact your fellow members. I hope it will help to build and strengthen our RCS community - please make the most of it! 2010 promises to be a challenging year for us as a charity, a Club and membership organisation, but I look forward to working with you all to ensure that we go from strength to strength.

RCS Exchange - Your members' magazine

The more eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that the January edition of your membership magazine is yet to appear.

In 2009, we experimented with producing three editions of RCS Exchange. While the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, it also proved an expensive way of communicating with our members, especially at a time when advertising revenue was hard to come by.

It is for this reason that we have been exploring ways of retaining the quality and feel of the magazine while making it more financially viable. This process will take some time and we ask for your understanding. We hope to have something in place in the next few months.

In the meantime, if you have any queries, or if you are interested in supporting RCS Exchange through sponsorship or advertising, please email Joanna Bennett or call on 020 7766 9230.

On the same day that these 8 remarkable women land back in the UK, this event will welcome them home and give you the first opportunity to hear about their extraordinary trek across more than 500 miles of the most hostile environment on Earth. Peter Sanders - A British Veil

Gallery - December 15 to January 29

"A Peace of Darkness"

Visit the gallery space to see the first Maldivian art exhibition ever to be held in the UK. The work of the three exhibiting artists contrasts starkly. Several pieces depict the fraglity of the natural environment, highlighting the dangers of climate change. Others were produced while the artist was in prison for voicing his political opinions under the former autocratic regime. This is an exhibition not to be missed...

Louis Sidoli

Gallery - February 3 to March 12

"The Continuum of Art"

This exhibition from South African artist, Johan Lamprecht, will analyse the underlying technologies of art, ranging from the art forms which are commonplace in the public arena and which we all observe, to art forms of the underground. From photography to code-based work, this exhibition promises to show us art as we've never seen it before.
