Art exhibitions

The Cultural Affairs department of the RCS organises a range of art exhibitions, hosted in the stylish gallery space of the Commonwealth Club.

Combining well-known names from across the Commonwealth with up-and-coming talent, the exhibitions feature work in a broad variety of media, from oil paintings to sculpture, pencil to photography. Offering a unique insight into the cultures, traditions and individual lives of artists from around the world, they provide a visual display of the rich diversity which characterises the Commonwealth.

'My Love of Trees' by Vivien Lodge

10th January 2012 - February 3rd 2012

Vivien expresses her love in a collection of old and new images of trees, ranging from her travels in the New Zealand Bush to walking in Regents Park.

Vivien uses a range of printmaking techniques and shapes to convey the seasonal changes of nature. By mixing the mediums she allows her prints and images to reflect a variety of moods and emotions.

Vivien is a prolific printer and painter and for many years taught fine art and printing at the Working Man's college in London.

As a member of the management committee of the Free Painters and Sculptors (an art charity run by artists for artists) she has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and her work is in both public and private collections. Vivien now works as a freelance art tutor running regular workshops in London.
