Dear , Danny Sriskandarajah

I would like to draw particular attention this month to our call for Council nominations. Our AGM may not be taking place until June, but we need to receive nominations for Council positions by 1st May. If you are interested in becoming more involved in the life of the RCS, then this is a great opportunity to do so. If you have any questions, please contact my colleague Elaine whose details you will find below. In the meantime, it's theatre, wine and tennis all the way...

  About our Youth Projects

Can you help with our Competitions?

As many of you will know, we are running essay, film and photography competitions for young people across the Commonwealth. The deadline for the Essay Competition is fast approaching with only one month left to submit your entries before 1st May.

We are looking for writers, filmmakers or photographers to contibute to workshops for some of our young competition entrants. These are taking place all over the world - you need not to be London-based.

If you think you could help, or if you would like to support our youth programmes in any other way, please get in touch with Competitions Manager, Catherine Clark for an informal chat (020 7766 9204)

"42 Women of Sierra Leone"

Following a long and brutal civil war, peace has returned to Sierra Leone. But the country remains shattered by trauma and poverty. Photographer Lee Karen Stow captures the images of 42 Sierra Leonean women in a stark reminder that their life expectancy remains just 42. These stunning photographs are hanging in our gallery space and around the Commonwealth Club.
